KCI the multidisciplinary engineering firm and part of Royal IHC is looking for a Wind Foundation Engineer who is responsible for the concept, basic and detail design of offshore wind structures such as wind turbine generator (WTG) substructures, offshore substations (OSS), monopiles and jackets. You will be part of a project team consisting of (senior) engineers and designers and advise on technical matters in other projects. As Wind Foundation Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
generating concept, basic and detail designs for the primary steel of various wind turbine foundations such as jackets, gravity base foundations and monopilesdesigning transition pieces for the various wind turbine foundation typesperforming the necessary design analyses and studies with accompanying reportsperforming independently complex global analyses for load-out, transport, lift, on-bottom stability, in-place, fatigue, natural frequency, WTG load iteration, foundation (pile), dynamic-, push over/redundancy and vessel impact conditions detailed verifications of welds, grout connections, wave slamming, vortex-induced vibrations, of the sub-structures and topside structureswriting design briefs and specifications, as well as liaising with our customers and certifying authoritiesskilled in serial design processes and programming routinesunderstanding the differences between designing a wind turbine foundation and the foundation for an offshore substation, or an oil and gas platform.

Your profile
To be eligible for the role of Wind Foundation Engineer at KCI, you must have:
higher vocational education (HBO) and/or an academic higher education (WO) in mechanical and/or civil engineeringat least five years experience in a structural discipline in a relevant market and at least three years in a similar positionstructural engineering experience in jackets and monopiles and topsides for the offshore wind marketexperience in analyses or calculations in the following areas: WTG load iterations and in-place analysis (ULS, FLS, SLS, ALS)detailed analyses or calculations experience in bolted connections, welded connections, grout connections and vortex-induced vibrationsproficiency in SACS and Ansys, and advanced knowledge in using Femap/Usfos/Grlweapa good knowledge of English and preferably Dutch (both written and verbal)the ability to be a team player with a talent for problem-solvingadaptability, assertiveness and critical thinking, with a focus on quality, problem analysis and achieving resultsknowledge of turbine modelling software such as Bladed (advantageous).
